📌 Christmas at the North Sea
Enjoy the peace and contemplation at Christmas on the North Sea.
Discover the island of Sylt with long walks on the beach or start the famous mudflat hike in the Wadden Sea. You can relax at numerous spa and wellness offers on the coast. Many Christmas activities in the North Sea region are waiting for you.
The Sylt Winter Market attracts from 09.12 to 03.01 with a wonderful Christmas atmosphere. On 26.12. Christmas bathing takes place in the North Sea in Westerland/Sylt.

Lonely beach promenades invite you to explore. The romantic torchlight walk on the Baltic Sea is very popular in winter, at times when the Baltic Sea is frozen, you can also ice skate there.
Numerous Christmas markets and a festively decorated Baltic Sea region provide a special flair. From 21.11. to 30.12. you can discover the Christmas markets in the historic old town of Lübeck.
Of course, there are many other regions that are perfect for winter camping in Germany and that you can also visit over Christmas.

In Southern Europe you can celebrate Christmas far from winter temperatures, here are our favorites for it:
📌 Christmas in Andalusia
You want to enjoy Christmas in the sunshine? Then we suggest you a trip to Andalusia, Spain.
Here you can expect temperatures up to 20 degrees - perfect for all winter muffle. Despite the sun, all of Andalusia is decorated for Christmas and the so-called "Villancicos" (choirs of adults and children) provide that certain something in the streets of Andalusia.
Other highlights are the Sierra Nevada National Park, where you can enjoy winter sports and admire the beautiful snow-covered landscape. Also recommended is a trip to the coastal city of Marbella, where winter temperatures are still mild and you can explore the city without crowds of tourists.
📌 Christmas in Sicily
Even in Sicily, temperatures are still very pleasant at Christmas with around 20 degrees.
Here you can expect many charming Christmas markets, which can score with typical Sicilian delicacies. We especially recommend a tour through Palermo - there you will get the feeling of Christmas everywhere in the lovingly decorated streets.
If you want to spend a quiet time in nature over the holidays, then you should visit the nature reserve Lo Zingaro. The world famous volcano Etna is our absolute highlight in Sicily, in winter you can even ski there.

How can I decorate my camper for Christmas?
In the camper is enough space for a small Christmas tree with beautiful colorful baubles, if the one in front of the door is a little too big. Even more Christmas spirit comes with Santa Claus caps on the headrests and lots of lights on the windows. If you want to make it even more Christmassy, you can of course decorate the table with a table runner, twigs and homemade stars. Add a few tea lights in a jar and your camper is ready for the special holiday season. For the Christmas feeling, of course, a cinnamon scented candle should not be missing, because at Christmas it always smells very special, right? Here again the most important summarized:

But what can't be missing is the Christmas smell of grandma's kitchen in the camper, right? For us, making cookies is part of getting into the Christmas spirit - but baking cookies in the camper, how is that supposed to work? Do you always have to bake cookies? We at FreewayCamper have picked out special recipes for you, without an oven!
Rum balls for Christmas days in the camper
Very simple and without baking you can prepare together with your loved ones, rum balls for relaxing Christmas days in the camper. All you need are the following ingredients, which you can take directly from home:
- 100 g butter
- 100 g powdered sugar
- 200 g milk chocolate
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 4 tablespoons rum
Oatmeal cookies for the little ones
You can also prepare cookies with the whole family in the camper and the perfect recipe for this are oatmeal cookies. You can make these easily without baking and with only a few ingredients directly in the camper. What you need:
- 50 g margarine
- 150 g sugar
- 5 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 5 tablespoons milk
- 300 g oat flakes
Mulled wine for festive mood
Even the mulled wine is very easy to prepare in one of our campers. With a pot from our kitchen package, a bottle of good red wine and the following ingredients:
- 1 organic orange
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 6 cloves
- 4 star anise
- 2 tablespoons cane sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
And if you don't want to give up your Spitzbuben, Vanillekipferl and Zimtschnecken, you can easily take them with you from home. 😉
